Disqualify mutineers from elections, Roco asks Congress

Filipino soldiers who participate in acts of rebellion, mutiny or sedition should be permanently disqualified from voter registration and therefore ineligible to run for any public office.

Cho Roco named One of the Most Outstanding Solons again

Congressman Cho Roco of the 2nd District of Cam. Sur was cited one of the Most Outstanding Neophyte Congressmen of 2002 by Congress Magazine, the same outfit that awarded him a similar title last year.

This was conferred during ceremonies held May this year near the close of their second regular session, by Congress Magazine, Makati Business Club, Soldier's Union and others.

Outstanding solons are chosen on the basis of their performance in the lower house of the Philippine Congress.

TITLE: AN ACT GRANTING INCOME EXTENDERS TO PUBLIC ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

ABSTRACT: This bill shall apply only to public elementary and high school teachers in the active service. Certain INCOME EXTENDERS proposed are: (1) Fare discounts; (2) Price discounts on rice and corn; (3) Lower rates of loan interests; (4) Free tuition and matriculation fees for their children; and (5) Preference in receiving educational loans.
